Saint Neofitos- Diocese Centre on the feast day of the presentation of our Lord into the Temple.

The presentation of our Lord Jesus Christ doesn't happen in the Jerusalem temple. It happens everyday in the temple of our lives. It happens in the midst of our waiting, anticipation and expectation. It happens every time we show up in the reality of our lives.

Simeon's life was one of expectation, anticipation and waiting. And who among us has not had or his life characterized by expectation, anticipating and waiting? We have all stood in that place of waiting for and expecting something to happen. We all know what it is to wait...waiting for life to change, waiting for grief to go away, joy to return, prayer to be answered, forgiveness and reconciliation, clarity about our decisions, waiting for meaning and purpose of our lives, healing and new life in Christ.

Beloved in Christ, God is present and working in our lives even if we cant see or clearly understand what it might be. That is what Simeon did. He continued to be vigilant and attentive, he continued to trust the promise. He continued to wait with hope and expectation. He never despaired or walked away from the promise. His miracle was in the showing up. He thought he was waiting for the child to show up, but it is Christ who was waiting for him to show up. He thought he was presenting the child to God, But it was God presenting the old man to Himself. Christ is presenting us to himself in reality. May we like Simeon and Anna, proclaim our faith in Christ, may we see Him in our lives and in the world around us. Have a blessed Feast Day of the Presentation of our Lord into the temple."
