ORDINATION OF DEACON AT THE HOLY DIOCESE

On 30th October 2016, His Grace Panteleimon Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, conducted the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Parish Church of the Resurrection of the Lord in Brazzaville, during which he ordained to the Diaconate Mr..Amour Jordach Ndzebe, who received the name Timotheos in honour of the late blessed Metropolitan Timotheos of Central Africa (+2003).  
During the ordination which is the second to have taken place in the capital of the Republic of the Congo in the more than thirty years of historic presence of the Orthodox Church in the country, the Bishop spoke of the importance and the enormous responsibility of serving the Holy Altar and the faithful in the spirit of sacrificial humility, love and prudence. He also gave paternal advice and guidance to the new member of the clergy, conveying to him also the love of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria, with whose blessing the ordination was done, according to the ecclesiastical order of the ancient Patriarchal Throne of St Mark.
The new Hierodeacon Fr. Timotheos Ndzebe, aged 34, married, will serve at the Holy Church of the Resurrection of the Lord in Brazzaville.
Prior to the conclusion of the Eucharistic gathering, His Grace also honoured with an plaque the Chairman of the Parish Council of Brazzaville, who has served for thirty consecutive years, Mr..Seraphin Bhalat, Councillor to the President of the Republic of the Congo, Director General of the Pointe-Noire Harbour and Member of the Diocesan Council, to whom he gave the title of Honourary Chairman of the above Parish Council.
The spiritual and liturgical functions were closed by the Chairman of the Parish Church, Mr. Adrien Hossie, who expressed the joy of the faithful and their gratitude to their Shepherd for the ordination of the new member of the clergy and the general spiritual promotion of the local Church.
Prayerfully attending were the Honorary Mrs. Emilienne Raoul, former Minister of Social Affairs of the Congo, the Honourable Mr. Nicholas Perris, Consul General of Greece in the Congo, with his honourable wife, representatives of the Congo Council of Churches, representatives of the city authorities and many faithful.
