Two years ago, the Church lost a remarkable hierarch, Metropolitan JONAH of Kampala and All Uganda. His Eminence tirelessly dedicated his life to spreading the Gospel and helping Orthodox Christianity thrive in Africa.

As one of East Africa's first African bishops, he was a beacon of local leadership despite the difficulties he faced. His Eminence's wisdom and mentorship touched many lives, including that of OCMC Executive Director Fr. Martin Ritsi and the missionaries who served in East Africa over the years.

Today, we honor his memory and enduring legacy of sharing the light and love of Christ. May his memory be eternal!
