DELIBERATIONS OF THE FIRST DAY OF ORTHODOX YOUTH CONFERENCE IN KAMPALA 2024.

With the blessing of Metropolitan Jeronymos of Kampala, over 80 youth representatives from the different Parishes of the Uganda Orthodox Church – Holy Metropolis of Kampala have kickstarted their 2-day conference today at the Metropolis secretariat in Kampala.

It started with several themes in discussion but mostly with the presence of the Metropolitan who physically blessed all their deliberations.

He presented a groundbreaking paper to youth outlining several current issues affecting the youth which require, discussion amongst themselves as well as contemplating together with church leadership on how to overcome them.

The metropolitan noted that he germinated from a Youth perspective and therefore he understands all their needs and he is ready to work closely with them to nurture a well-molded future of the Church, the Youth.

Θεία Λειτουργία και γεύμα στο χωριό των Ταξιαρχών (Τανζανία) - Ιεραποστολική Στέγη

ΙΕΡΑΠΟΣΤΟΛΙΚΗ ΣΤΕΓΗ 

Στο χωριό Μλόα των Ταξιαρχών βρεθήκαμε την Κυριακή 28 Ιανουαρίου για τη Θεία Λειτουργία. Στο χωριό αυτό, στο οποίο κυριαρχεί το ισλαμικό στοιχείο, το ποίμνιο της Εκκλησίας μας αυξάνεται με τη χάρη του Θεού, την ευχή του Θεοφιλεστάτου Επισκόπου Αρούσας και Κεντρικής Τανζανίας κ. Αγαθονίκου και τη δράση των κληρικών της Επισκοπής. Συγκεντρώνονται οι νέοι, διδάσκεται η βυζαντινή μουσική και κάθε Σαββατοκύριακο πραγματοποιείται συστηματική κατήχηση σε πιστούς και κατηχουμένους.

Ο Ιερός Ναός των Ταξίαρχων καθίσταται κέντρο της ημερήσιας ζωής των πιστών, ενώ παιδιά του κατηχητικού της ενορίας φιλοξενούνται κατά τη διάρκεια του έτους στο Ιεραποστολικό Κέντρο του Κινταμάλι, προκειμένου να συμμετάσχουν στις καθημερινές ακολουθίες και να γνωρίσουν από κοντά το έργο της Εκκλησίας.

Μετά τη Θεία Λειτουργία και την κατήχηση παρατέθηκε γεύμα των αδελφών μας Κωνσταντίνου, Φωτίου και Ιωάννη Πορτοκαλίδη εις μνήμην των γονέων τους Φωτίου και Λαμπρινής.

Αρχιερατική Θεία Λειτουργια στον Ιερό Ναό Αγίου Νεκταρίου Chingola -Zambia

Στον Ιερό Ναό του Αγίου Νεκτάριου προστάτου της Μητροπόλεως Ζαμπιας στην πόλη της Chingola στην Επαρχία Copperbelt (πλησίον των συνόρων με τη Λαϊκή Δημοκρατία του Κονγκό )χτες Κυριακη 28 Ιανουαριου ο Σεβασμιοτατος Μητροπολιτης Ζαμπιας κ. Ιωαννης τέλεσε Αρχιερατικη Θεία Λειτουργία .

Μετά το πέρας της Θείας Μυσταγωγίας στον προαύλιο χώρο του Ιερού Ναού έγινε η κοπή της βασιλόπιτας της Κοινότητας του Κιτουε .

Ο Σεβασμιώτατος , μιλώντας πατρικά προς τους συμμετέχοντες πιστους , μετέφερε τις ευχές και ευλογίες της Α.Θ.Μ. του Πάπα και Πατριάρχου Αλεξανδρείας και πάσης Αφρικής κ. Θεόδωρου Β´ ανακοίνωσε την τοποθέτηση εφημερίου και την επαναλειτουργία του Κοινοτικού Ιερού Ναού του Αγίου Ανδρέα στο Κιτουε .

Το Κιτουε θα αποτελεί τη βάση, απ' όπου ο εφημέριος θα καλύπτει τις πνευματικές ανάγκες και αλλων τριών πόλεων.

At that time, Jesus was passing through Jericho. And there was a man named Zacchaios; he was a chief collector, and rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not, on account of the crowd, because he was small of stature. So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaios, make haste and come down; for I must stay at your house today." So he made haste and came down, and received him joyfully. And when they saw it they all murmured, "He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner." And Zacchaios stood and said to the Lord, "Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have defrauded any one of anything, I restore it fourfold." And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man came to seek and to save the lost."

Zacchaios, irrespective of his limiting stature lived above visible obstacles to unlock spiritual vast ocean of divine heights. While his antagonists remained on low ground battling with fallen elements, Zacchaios quickly ascended the "sycamore tree" where he gained balanced visibility and connected God immediately. Having established relationship, Christ ordered him to hastily come down as salvation will be announced to his household upon His glorious visitation.

Are you still seeing only your incapabilities or you have identified the godly route to transcend your obstacles? In the midst of your troubles, God has planted solutions just as would favour you. Become Zacchaios, climb you sycamore tree and have conversation with Christ.

Ο Άγιος Διονύσιος ο εν Ολύμπω στην Τανζανία - Ιεραποστολική Στέγη

 ΙΕΡΑΠΟΣΤΟΛΙΚΗ ΣΤΕΓΗ 

Η 23η Ιανουαρίου, ημέρα μνήμης του Οσίου πατρός ημών Διονυσίου του εν Ολύμπω, αποτελεί για την Ιεραποστολική Στέγη και την Ιερά Επισκοπή Αρούσας ημέρα χαράς και πανηγύρεως. Ο Θεοφιλέστατος Επίσκοπος Αρούσας και Κεντρικής Τανζανίας κ. Αγαθόνικος έχει κάνει γνωστό τον Άγιο Διονύσιο στους κληρικούς και τους πιστούς της Κεντρικής Τανζανίας και η μνήμη του τιμάται με πανηγυρική Θεία Λειτουργία.

Φετινός σταθμός της εορτής ήταν η ενορία του Αγίου Απόστολου Φιλίππου στο χωριό Κιμπέμπε. Οι κάτοικοι του χωριού συμμετείχαν στη Θεία Λειτουργία και μετά την απόλυση παρακάθισαν στην εόρτια τράπεζα που προσφέρθηκε, δωρεά της αδελφής μας Φούντα Ουρανίας εις μνήμην του συζύγου της Αστεριού.

MASS BAPTISM IN NSINZE AND THE MIRACLE OF TWIN BABIES

On Saturday, 21 January, His Grace Bishop Silvestros presided over the baptism of twenty people at the village of Isegero Mile, Nsinze in Namutumba district on invitation of the parish priest of St Spyridon Nsinze and the head of the home where the holy sacrament was performed. Among the baptized was a pair of twins whose birth was by the "help of the Holy Water from the church".

In his words, Isaac Isabirye the head of the home testified; "During my wife's antenatal, she went to Nsinze hospital and there, she was subjected to medical imaging. The resulting image showed that the babies were abnormally positioned in the womb. The doctors added that she will only manage Cesarean delivery on 21st October 2023". He adds that when the wife came back from the hospital, she feared to tell him at first but after days of him seeing the woman not feeling well, he asked her what was wrong and she revealed the troubling information.

Isaac then embarked on the way to find money for C-section. Then after a while, he decided to go with the wife to church (St Spyridon - Nsinze) and ask the priest (Fr Michael Mushikoma) to pray for the feeble spouse. The couple had been ceremonial Orthodox christians who could go to church only once in a while.

After praying for them, he gave them some Holy Water for the patient to drink.

When time for giving birth came, the wife was rushed to Nsinze hospital for the projected abdominal incision. "After reaching the hospital, I decided to get back home to collect the money for payment but before I even traversed through the hospital premises, the midwives called me back and informed me that my wife had given birth to twins normally!" Isaac stressed with exclamation. Everyone at the hospital was perplexed but the doctors who had performed the radiology months before were the most puzzled.

When they got back home, with their souls filled with wonder and joy, they couldn't keep it under wraps and broke the news to the family members, neighbours and the news about the Holy Water spread quickly over the whole village. With prudent minds, a number of villagers and other family members asked to receive the sacrament of Holy Baptism in the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church.

The event, which included Thanksgiving, was graced by the attendence of different dignitaries including the district LC V chairperson, Mr Mukisa David Mulondo Kalulu, local councillors and the head of Mpiina clan - Wakudumira (Baise Mpiina), to which the family members belong; and a large number of people, invited and uninvited.

We continue glorifying our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who works wonders through the Holy Mysteries in his Church.

Archbishop Makarios went to St. Clements Primary school to visit the Teachers and the children

His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, this afternoon went to St. Clements Primary school to visit the Teachers and the children. Our visitors had bought some food stuff for the Teachers, staff and students of the primary. Such a very great and amazing blessing.. The smiles, the laughter and the joy on the faces of each of the students and the teachers was an amazing blessing. The Archbishop thanked our guests for their very precious gift, and also thanked the Teachers for their efforts and good work. The Archbishop also encouraged the students to keep studying hard and doing their best in their studies.. Such a wonderful afternoon. The day ended on a special and Wonderful note. Such an amazing blessing..

Ενορία των Αγίων Αθανασίου και Κυρίλλου της Ζόμμπα τού Μαλάουι

Αγαπητοί μου αδελφοί και περιπόθητοι, με την Δύναμιν τού τού Παντάνακτος Θεού της Αγάπης, τις Ευχές και Ευλογίες τού Μακαριωτάτου Πατριάρχου μας Κ.κ. ΘΕΟΔΩΡΟΥ Β’, την εικοστήν Ιανουαρίου 2024 εις την Ενορία των Αγίων Αθανασίου και Κυρίλου της Ζόμμπα τού Μαλάουι, έγιναν τα εγκαίνια μιάς νέας γεώτρησης.

Πραγματοποιήθηκε Θεία Λειτουργία, χοροστατούντος τού Θεοφιλεστάτου Επισκόπου τού Μαλάουι κ Φωτίου.

Κατόπιν εις τον αύλειον χώρον τού Ναού έμπροσθεν της γεωτρήσεως, ετελέσθησαν ο Αγιασμός και τα εγκαίνια, παρουσία πλήθους πιστών.

Δόξα τώ Θεώ!!!!.

Μεγάλη δωρεά τού Θεού διά τους « ελαχίστους αδελφούς τού Χριστού»

«Μάτζι ντι μόγιο» λέγουν οι ντόπιοι. Δηλαδή το νερό είναι ζωή.

Ευχηθείτε αδελφοί μου, αυτή η γεώτρηση, με την Χάριν τού Θεού, να προσελκύσει πολλούς εις την αληθινή πίστη και να γίνει αφορμή εις το να γευθούν πολλοί αδελφοί μας Μαλαουιανοί τό « ύδωρ το αλλόμενον εις Ζωήν αιώνιον».

Επαναλειτουργία του Ιστορικού Ιερού Ναού της Ελληνορθόδοξης Κοινότητας στην Μπέιρα της Μοζαμβίκης

Επαναλειτουργία του Ιστορικού Ιερού Ναού, της πάλαι ποτέ ακμάζουσας Ελληνορθόδοξης Κοινότητας στη Μπέιρα της Μοζαμβίκης και τοποθέτηση νέου εφημερίου .

Ο Μητροπολίτης Ζάμπιας και Τοποτηρητής της Ιεράς Επισκοπής Μοζαμβίκης, κ. Ιωάννης τέλεσε Αρχιερατική Θεία Λειτουργία στον Ιστορικό Ιερό Ναό της Αγίας Τριάδας στη Μπέιρα.

Μετά το πέρας της Θείας Λειτουργίας, εμφανώς συγκινημένος, τοποθέτησε το νέο εφημέριο π.Ιωάννη Τομας και αναφέρθηκε στο ιστορικό του Ναού και της Ελληνορθόδοξης Κοινότητας, η προσφορά της οποίας στην τοπική κοινωνία ειναι αδιάψευστη ιστορική μαρτυρία.

Στην ομιλία του ο Μητροπολίτης τόνισε, απευθυνόμενος στο νέο Εφημέριο, τα εξής:

<<Με τη βοήθεια του Θεού και τις ευχες του Πατριάρχη μας, από σήμερα αρχίζεις ένα νέο πνευματικό σταθμό στην ιστορία αυτού του τόπου. Θα υπηρετήσεις την πατρίδα σου, το χωράφι μπορεί να ειναι χέρσο και ακαλλιέργητο, μα ο καιρός της βροχής ειναι σιμά και γιαυτό δε φοβάμαι. Ειμαι σιγουρος οτι θα το καλλιεργήσεις με τον καλύτερο τρόπο, που εσύ γνωρίζεις, αφού είναι ο τόπος σου και θα δώσεις τον καλύτερο σου εαυτό>>.

Ο Σεβασμιότατος επίσης ευχαρίστησε τους παρόντες στην ιστορική αυτή στιγμή και ιδιαιτέρως τα μέλη της Ελληνικής Στρατιωτικής Εκπαιδευτικής Αποστολής, οι οποίοι υπηρετούν στη Μοζαμβίκη, στην περιοχή Chimoio, συμμετέχοντας στην αποστολή της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης.

* Ο νέος εφημέριος π.Ιωάννης Τομας είναι πτυχιούχος της φιλοσοφικής και δάσκαλος, με καταγωγή από τη Μπέιρα.

Πρόκειται για ένα νέο, δραστήριο και καταρτισμένο κληρικό, ο οποίος καλείται από δω και στο εξής να κάνει ένα νέο ξεκίνημα για τον ιστορικό τούτο ναό, που κάποτε έσφιζε από ζωή. Στο πλευρό του θα βρίσκεται πάντα ο π. Στυλιανός,ο οποίος θα δίνει τις κατευθύνσεις για το Ιεραποστολικό έργο που καλείται να επιτελέσει.
