The Archbishopric of Good Hope has acquired a new property which will be an Orthodox Centre for all Orthodox groups, irrespective of ethnicity or language. The purchase and renovation of the property was made possible by the donations of generous benefactors which were made for the specific purpose of creating a multi- cultural Orthodox Centre for religious enlightenment.
The Centre includes a large meeting area which will be named after the late Archbishop Paul Varnavas, and will be suitable for hosting functions and conferences. It will also be used by various Orthodox groups for cultural and educational programmes.
It is hoped that the Centre will offer Orthodox educational programmes, which will be complemented by the establishment of an Orthodox library, with reference facilities that can cater for various language groups and also house a collection of books of historical interest.
The first events that are planned at the Centre are:
FROM WOODSTOCK – take N2
Keep Left to continue onto Settlers Way/N2 – Follow signs for Somerset West, Cape Town International Airport
1.9 km – Take exit 9B to merge onto M5 Muizemberg
Travel in the direction of Muizemberg
Take M24 RACECOURCE ROAD off ramp
Turn to LEFT onto Turfhall Road, travel over the bridge and continue straight
Turn right at robot JAN SMUTS DRIVE M 17
First road left onto BLOMVLEI ROAD
Frist road LEFT onto LYNDON CRESCENT
