Uganda Orthodox Church
"Today, the Orthodox Church Media Team payed a visit to one of the struggling but spiritually stable Kayindu Orthodox Community (Sts. Cosmas & Damian). This community is located in the central part of Uganda in the Orthodox deanery of Luweero. It has existed for over 13 years and they are worshiping the Lord in a temporary area with a small and simple tree like structure acting as their Church. Currently, Catechist Lukwago John is helping in uplifting the spiritual desires of the over 50 Orthodox Christians.
The Uganda Orthodox Church Mothers Union Secretariat (http://uocmu.org/) has initiated self-sustainability projects that both the mothers and fathers engage in to earn a living and develop their area.
We visited some of the gardens of the faithfuls and a joint farming project being carried out.
With prayers and support, such orthodox church centers in Uganda can reach to there expected levels of development in all aspects."
