SATURDAY 5th/02/2022 : DIVINE LITURGY AT TWELVE APOSTLES, SAINT PETER AND PAUL APOSTLES PARISH / RWAMAGANA - EAST RWANDA

With the blessing of His Eminence Innocentios Byakatonda , Metropolitan of the Holy Orthodox Metropolis of Burundi and Rwanda, Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa, Divine Liturgy was celebrated this morning of 5th February 2022 at the Parish of Twelve Apostles, Saint Peter and Paul Apostles / Rwamagana the Headquarters in the Eastern Province. Father Timothy from Saint Mary Parish has concelebrated with Father Nicholas the Head Priest, and the majority of the participants were children as it's a habit on Saturdays.

Among the Saints commemorated today are: Saint Agatha the Martyr, Saint Theodosius of Scopelos, and Saint Polyeucte of Constantinople.

The Holy readings are: 1 Corinthians 10:23-38 for the Epistle, and Matthew 24:34-37 . 42-44 for the Gospel.

EPISTLE READING : I Corinthians 10:23-28

The Believer’s Freedom

23 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. 24 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.

25 Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, 26 for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.”

27 If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without raising questions of conscience. 28 But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, both for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience.

GOSPEL READING: Matthew 24:34-37; 42-44

34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

The Day and Hour Unknown

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

SAMEDI 05/02/2022 : LITURGIE DIVINE CHEZ LES DOUZE APÔTRES, PAROISSE SAINT PIERRE ET PAUL APÔTRES / RWAMAGANA - RWANDA EST

Avec la bénédiction de Son Eminence Innocentios Byakatonda , Métropolite de la Sainte Métropole Orthodoxe du Burundi et du Rwanda, Patriarcat Grec Orthodoxe d'Alexandrie et de toute l'Afrique, la Divine Liturgie a été célébrée ce matin du 5 Fevrier 2022 à la Paroisse des Douze Apôtres, Saint Pierre et Apôtres Paul / Rwamagana le siège de la province de l'Est. Le Père Timothy de la paroisse Saint Mary a concélébré avec le Père Nicholas le Grand Prêtre, et la majorité des participants étaient des enfants comme c'est l'habitude le samedi.

Parmi les saints commémorés aujourd'hui figurent : Sainte Agathe la martyre, Saint Théodose de Scopelos et saint Polyeucte de Constantinople.

Les lectures saintes sont : 1 Corinthiens 10 :23-38 pour l'Epître, et Matthieu 24 :34-37. 42-44 pour l'Evangile.

LECTURE D'ÉPÎTRE : I Corinthiens 10:23-28

La liberté du croyant

23 « J'ai le droit de tout faire », dites-vous, mais tout n'est pas bénéfique. "J'ai le droit de faire n'importe quoi" - mais tout n'est pas constructif. 24 Nul ne doit chercher son propre bien, mais le bien d'autrui.

25 Mangez de tout ce qui se vend au marché de la viande sans soulever de questions de conscience, 26 car : « La terre est à l'Éternel, et tout ce qu'elle contient.

27 Si un incroyant vous invite à un repas et que vous vouliez y aller, mangez tout ce qui vous sera proposé sans soulever de questions de conscience. 28 Mais si quelqu'un vous dit : « Cela a été offert en sacrifice », alors n'en mangez pas, à cause de celui qui vous l'a dit et à cause de votre conscience.

LECTURE DE L'EVANGILE : Matthieu 24:34-37 ; 42-44

34 En vérité, je vous le dis, cette génération ne passera certainement pas que toutes ces choses ne soient arrivées. 35 Le ciel et la terre passeront, mais mes paroles ne passeront jamais.

Le jour et l'heure inconnus

36 «Mais à propos de ce jour ou de cette heure, personne ne le sait, pas même les anges dans le ciel, ni le Fils, mais seulement le Père. 37 Ce qui arriva du temps de Noé arrivera de même à l'avènement du Fils de l'homme.

42 « Veillez donc, car vous ne savez pas quel jour votre Seigneur viendra. 43 Mais comprenez ceci : si le maître de la maison avait su à quelle heure de la nuit le voleur doit venir, il aurait veillé et ne a laissé sa maison être cambriolée. 44 Vous aussi, vous devez être prêts, car le Fils de l'homme viendra à l'heure où vous ne l'attendez pas.
