Uganda Orthodox Church - Holy Metropolis of Kampala
Today, after the Divine Liturgy and procession of the Holy icons on the Sunday of Orthodoxy at St Nicholas Cathedral, Metropolitan Jeronymos held a Thanksgiving service (Artoklasia) to express gratitude for the accomplishment of; his enthronement as Archbishop of the Holy Metropolis of Kampala and Exarch of All Uganda, Bishops Silvester and Nectarios of Jinja and Gulu, respectively.
The primate of Uganda Orthodox Church extended his appreciative message to all the parties who worked tirelessly for the successfulness of the historical enthronement of the three prelates of Uganda. He particularly thanked the Patriarchal representatives, Elder Makarios of Nairobi and Metropolitan Innocentios of Burundi and Rwanda. The president of Uganda, who was represented by the vice president, HE Jessica Alupo at all the three events, Buganda and Busoga kingdoms, the chairperson of the central organizing committee, Rev Fr Archmandrite Constantine Mbonabingi, the brotherly love of Bishop Neophytos of Nyeri & Mountain Kenya, the Bible Society of Uganda, Uganda Police, Media, and all the stakeholders.
In his remarks, the archbishop prayed for peace between the Orthodox countries, Russia and Ukraine that are currently at war.
He co-celebrated with Rev Fr Archmandrite Constantine Mbonabingi, Fr Nicholas Bayego who delivered the day's sermon about the triumph of Orthodoxy, Fr John Kibuuka, Fr Stelios Kasule, Fr Paul Kikulwe, Fr Anastasios Isabirye, Fr Emmanuel Kiwanuka, Fr Patrick Kizito and Deacons, Parthenios Jjingo and Alexios Mugalu.
