With the blessing of His Grace Innocentios Byakatonda, Bishop of Burundi, Rwanda, and East Congo, Orthodox Church in Rwanda has participated to the meetings conducted by Office of Ombudsman of Rwanda.
His Grace Innocentios Byakatonda, himself , has participated to the meeting with Ombudsman and Religious leaders and his point in that meeting was very clear: Corruption is a virus or a cancer and the enemy against love, justice and righteousness. That was his point in the meeting with the different religious leaders in Nobleza hotel in Kicukiro this 8th December 2016. All religious leaders had concern to fight against corruption because it is a big sin that destroy the morality, the welfare of all People.The Deputy Ombudsman, Honorable Kanzayire Bernadette who directed that meeting said the the Office of The Ombudsan will continue to have good partnership with all religions in order to combine force for eradication of Corruption and injustice.
The first meeting in which Orthodox church in Rwanda has participated to, was the Youth congress held this Monday, 5th December in Hill Top Hotel in Remera, that congress had the objective of raising the Youth awareness in order to fight against corruption. Even if Youth is power but is fragile toward corruption due to limitation of means and some time lack of job and property. The youth that participated to that congress decided to straighten their anti corruption clubs. The Office of Ombudsman thank the Youth anti-corruption club based in Orthodox Church, Parish of Rwamagana. The Office of the Ombudsman called all clubs which were more that 50 in all over Rwanda, to take the Orthodox Club from Rwamagana as the model, and they thank His Grace Innocentios who bless always the initiatives of Youth and Children.
