On 30th January 2019 His Eminence Panteleimon, Metropolitan of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, accompanied by the Hierarchal Vicar General Protopresbyter Maximos Oumba, visited the Regional Military Hospital in Pointe-Noire where he donated a quantity of medicines.
These medicines which were gratefully received by the Colonel – Director of the hospital, were kindly given to the Holy Metropolis by the Most Honorable Mr Christos Kylikas, an Industrial Pharmacist, voluntary Consul of the Republic of Congo-Brazzaville in Greece.
His Eminence then went to the “LOANDJILI” General Hospital where he gave over another quantity of medicines for the needs of the poor citizens being cared for there. The Administrators of the Hospital enthusiastically received the donation, emphasizing that the Orthodox Church is distinguished for its practical love and generosity to every suffering fellow human without distinction.
Finally, His Eminence visited the «Louise Michel» Hospital, where again he gave medicines, wheel chairs and other medical equipment. While receiving the donation the Senior Doctor of the hospital underscored among other things that “this philanthropic initiative by the Holy Metropolis, reveals the power of the faith and love of the Orthodox fellow citizens, which the local community receives as a practical and hopeful message of solidarity and brotherhood amid a severe economic and spiritual crisis.
It is noted that the successive visits of His Eminence the Metropolitan of Brazzaville to the three major hospitals of Congo-Brazzaville were covered by the state television "Télé Congo".
