Today the African Orthodox church in Kenya under the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria has reason to smile as I do, because my son and Proto Presbyter Nicodemos Karanja is back with African Orthodox church under the Patriarchate of Alexandria. Yes, I travelled to western Kenya for mission work to do visitations, teach our people, and celebrated the Divine Liturgy with Fr Nicodemos Munavi, Proto Presbyter Nicodemos Karanja, Fr Joel Kasibwa and Deacon Pathenios at St Peter and Paul at wo Ombodo village in Vihiga County in western kenya. This is about 379 Kilometers from my home in Migori County. First all I had the honor and pleasure to receive back Proto Presbyter Nicodemos Karanja, the immediate former General Vicar of the Diocese of Kisumu, from the Russian Orthodox church. To welcome him back home, I administered to him the anointing with the Oil of gladness, as the Canons of our church require and after which we proceeded to do a Divine Liturgy together. What a joyful service it was! Fr Karanja joined me at Fr Nicodemos Munavi's Parish at St Peter and Paul Wo Ombodo together with Fr Joel Kasibwa and Deacon Pathenios.
