St. Mary of Egypt Monastery, Uganda

St. Mary of Egypt Monastery is located 55KM from Kampala, Uganda.  Established in 2001, under the Patriarchate of Alexandria, the monastery is currently home to three sisters and five novices, all native Ugandans.  Through activities such as iconography, hand crafts, sewing, table wine, and gardening, the sisters are working to sustain the needs of the young monastery as well as the orphan children who make the monastery their home.
Visitors:
The monastery is open to visitors from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Children are most welcome to come as well.  We are working to provide overnight accommodations. We would be happy to assist you if you would like to visit overnight–please contact the monastery if you would like to make arrangements.

Daily Orthros, Hours, Vespers and Compline  (contact the monastery for schedule)
Sunday Liturgy:  Orthros 9:30 a.m. Liturgy 10:30 a.m.
