"SAMP feature 2: Fr. Alexios Celestin of Madagascar

Under the guidance of His Grace Bishop Ignatios, the Diocese of Madagascar has over 30 priests, 20 of whom are sponsored through the SAMP program. Most of these priests serve at least two or three different communities, because there are not enough priests for every parish to have their own.

Fr. Alexios Celestin was born in 1966 in Beamalona, Madagascar. He was baptized into the Orthodox faith on May 17, 2008. He was ordained to the holy priesthood on April 26, 2009. Fr. Alexios currently serves two mission communities in Antsiranana and Ambilobe.
