Under the guidance of His eminence Metropolitan Ignatios, the Metropolis of Madagascar has over 40 priests, 20 of whom are sponsored through the SAMP program. In 2018, the Diocese of Toliara and Southern Madagascar was created to minister to the growing number of communities.

Fr. Stephanos Tratra was born on March 30, 1980, in the town of Ampitatarika. He was ordained to the holy priesthood on December 31, 2006. He currently serves the parish of St. John the Theologian in Alasora.
