MEETINGS OF THE BISHOP OF BRAZZAVILLE IN DOLISIE

On the morning of 23rd July 2014, His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Brazzaville and Gabon, arrived in the city of Dolisie, where he met successively with His Excellency the Governor of the Niari District, Mr. Jean Pierre Heyko-Lekoba, the Honorary Mr. Paul Adam Dibouilou, Myor of Dolisie and the Honorary Chairman of the District Council of Niari, with whom he discussed the final technical details for the creation of an open space for athletics at the “Light of the Nations” Orthodox Schools during the summer holidays, as well as a new road which will connect the school complex with the city centre, thereby reducing the great distance from it.
He then went on to meet with the children being cared for t the “Saint Efstathios: Orthodox Orphanage, where he presented the new Director, the Reverend Fr. Paul Diafouka, Parish Priest of the Parish Community of St. Irene in Dolisie, and expressed the gratitude of the local Church to the departing Directress, Mrs Dorothea Samba.

He also gave the children an enormous quantity of new clothes, which was a donation from an international clothing company, as well as a computer with a colour printer for the administration needs of the institution, donated by an information company in the Congo.

He went on to have talks with the secretarial staff of the “Light of the World” Orthodox Schools, to whom he gave guidance for the faithful implementation of the guidelines of the relative Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of the Congo, following amendments which came into being in State legislation regarding private schools, with the representative of the company which will take on the renovation works of the school complex, with the new Director of the Orphanage Fr. Paul Diafouka, regarding its fundamental reconstruction and with the Honourable Mr. Rigobert N’dalou, Chairman of the Church Council of St Irene in Dolisie. At midnight on the same day, His Grace returned by road to the See of the Diocese in Pointe-Noire.
