On 9 August 2014, Her Excellency Mrs. Emilienne Raoul, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Congo, visited in Dolisie the “Agios Efstathios” Orphanage of the Holy Diocese of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon. The visit is part of the collaboration which has developed over the past year between the local Church and the State Authorities.
Her Excellency Mrs. Raoul was welcomed on behalf of His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Brazzaville and Gabon, by the Reverend Protopresbyter Fr. Maximos Oumba, Vicar General of the Holy Diocese and the Reverend Fr. Paul Diafouka, Director of the Orphanage. The Minister chatted with the children and the staff of the institution, and gave Fr. Paul the renewal of its operation.
Before leaving, the Minister had a telephonic conversation with His Grace, to whom she expressed congratulations both for the excellent living conditions at the institution as well as for its exceptional operation. She also assured him regarding the constant support of the relative Ministry of Social Affairs. The Bishop thanked Mrs Raoul for the visit and the excellent cooperation. He also passed on the blessings and gratitude of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, for the support shown by the State Authorities towards the general pastoral and philanthropic efforts of the Holy Diocese of Brazzaville and Gabon.
