On 13th November 2015, His Grace Panteleimon Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, went to the city of Dolisie, where he performed the Sanctification of Waters at the Orthodox School “Light of the Nations” for the start of the new school year 2015 – 2016.
Addressing the pupils of the Primary School of the Holy Diocese, he spoke of the importance of education for the spiritual progress and maturity of each person and by extension of the entire broader society, emphasized the uniqueness of Christ-centered education and conveyed the paternal love and wishes of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and Africa to the teaching staff and the pupils. He also visited the classrooms of the school to meet the children and to talk with them.
He then went on to pay a courtesy visit to the new Governor of the Niari District to pass on to him his congratulations as he takes on his responsible duties.
In the afternoon of the same day, after the Service of Vespers and the Paraclesis to the Most Holy Theotokos at the Holy Parish Church of St Irene in Dolisie, he had a meeting with the faithful, to whom he spoke of the importance of active participation in the worship life of the Church, and answered questions posed by them. The day ended with a dinner kindly hosted by the Church Council in honour of the Bishop.
