In 2002, an idea was born in a seminary dorm room that has blossomed into something bigger than our wildest expectations. In the beginning, our goals were not ambitious… We sent a mere $450 the first year to eight students in Kenya. The small sum was enough to pay for the students’ tuition for an entire year. Since those early days of finding and choosing just a handful of students, we have spread our wings to include more in need.
Since those early days of finding and choosing just a handful of students, we have spread our wings to include more in need.Through the grace of God and the love of many, the Saint Nektarios Education Fund has provided over 430 scholarships and several operating grants to schools, distributing over $325,000 to needy students. And we have constructed three schools. Our current project in Uganda provides additional classrooms for over 450 students.
This year, we are working on constructing additional facilities on our Uganda campus, which will allow us not only to educate, but to house and feed the 450 students and staff. These improvements will include dormitories and teachers’ quarters, a bathing facility, an equipped kitchen and additional land for future expansion of the Gulu campus. Please consider giving a life-changing gift today. Based here in Colorado, the Saint Nektarios Education Fund is 100% volunteer-based—and over 95% of all dollars raised go to those in need. Your tax-deductible donation will ensure that more children have an opportunity to receive an education.
Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping this idea become a reality.
God Bless,
+Father Evan Armatas,
