The Church of "Transfiguration of Christ" falls under the jurisdiction of the Holy Archdiocese of Madagascar and Indian Ocean, which is administered by the Greek Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa.

The foudation stone of the church was laid with the blessings of his Beatitude Petros VII Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All of Africa by his Grace Bishop Nectarios of Madagascar and Mauritius on Sunday the 12th May 2002.
