CELEBRATION OF BISHOP SILVESTER'S NAME-DAY IN NAMAYINGO

 Uganda Orthodox Church - Holy Diocese of Jinja and Eastern Uganda 

Today, His Grace Bishop Silvestros celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Holy Resurrection - Buhemba Parish, Namayingo district, to honour the memory of his patron saint, Silvester Pope of Rome.

His Grace was joined by Archimandrite Prodromos Lubega, Fr. Chrysostomos Koolya, Fr. Josephat Ojiambo and Hierodeacon Mateja.

In a special way, His Grace welcomed the presence of Titular Metropolitan Innocentios of Sozusa.

May the Lord preserve our Shepherd and grant him to His Holy Churches in peace, safety, honor, and health, unto length of days, rightly teaching the word of His truth.

Η έλευση του νέου έτους 2025 εντός της Θείας Λειτουργίας, είναι για εμάς ευλογία και δύναμη πνευματική για την συνέχιση του έργου της Ιεραποστολής. Για δε τα μέλη της Ορθόδοξης Εκκλησίας μας στην Γκάνα είναι πηγή χαράς, κοινωνίας, δοξολογίας και αίνου του Θεού «εν τυμπάνω και χορώ... εν χορδαίς και οργάνω» (Ψαλμ. 150:4).

The arrival of the new year 2025 within the Divine Liturgy is for us a blessing and spiritual strength for the continuation of the work of the Mission.

And for the members of our Orthodox Church in Ghana it is a source of joy, communion, glory and praise of God “with timbrels and dancing... with strings and instruments” (Ps. 150:4).
