FOUNDATION STONE LAID FOR NEW SCHOOL IN MAYUGE
Yesterday, 7 December, His Grace Bishop Silvester presided over the service of laying of the foundation stone for the construction of a primary school in Budhebera - Mayuge right after the consecration of the new place of worship. One of our strategic focus areas is Education and Community Development _ to ensure inclusive and equitable education and promote life-long learning opportunities for all.
We thank all the people who attended the glorious event to witness the marking of indelible memories in the people of Mayuge and the surrounding areas; the clergy especially, Archmandrite Prodromos - the Abbot of St Paraskevi Monastery, Fr Emmanuel Kiwanuka from Kampala Archdiocese; political leaders and local religious leaders of different denominations.
His Grace assigned the Vicar General Rev Fr Chrysostom Koolya the role of Parish Priest of the new Parish dedicated to all Holy Unmercenaries; Cosmas & Damian, Cyrus & John, Pantaleimon, Tryphon, Sampson the Inkeeper, Diomedes, Julianos, Ermolaos, and so on.
With the fear of God, with Faith and Love; the Sacred Mysteries that were performed will leave a lasting mark on the spiritual lives of the Orthodox people of Budhebera and Mayuge Town at large.
