Holistic Healing in Uganda

Holistic Healing in Uganda
With the blessings of His Grace Bishop Silvestros of Jinja and Eastern Uganda and with the support of a strategic grant from the Orthodox Christian Mission Center, we are excited to share the successful establishment of the Orthodox Mission Pharmacy and the re-location of St. Spyridon Medical Center in the diocese.
The new pharmacy, situated in the bustling Bugembe town center, now serves as a pivotal resource for Orthodox medical centers, supporting the health of the surrounding community and supplying medication to approximately 400 local drug shops, hospitals, and clinics. Meanwhile, the St. Spyridon Medical Center in Namutumba Town – which has treated over 300 patients since its inception – not only offers affordable medication for common ailments like Malaria, but also provides compassionate, holistic support that addresses both the physical and spiritual needs of those it serves.
His Grace Bishop Silvestros reflected on these projects, stating, “The establishment of these two facilities in our diocese has posed a profound impact on the community they both serve.”
In celebrating these new establishments in Jinja and Eastern Uganda, we are reminded of the transformative power of Christ’s love, which embodies the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. And it is through your prayers and support that we may continue to serve communities holistically and bring people into the fullness of life in Christ.
