His Eminence Archbishop Sergios officiates at the Vespers Service for the Feast of the Holy Archangels – in George

On Saturday evening 9 November 2013 His Eminence Archbishop Sergios officiated at the Vespers service at the Church of The Holy Archangels (in George) which included the Artoclasia for the Holy Archangels. And at the Service of the Holy Eucharist on Sunday 10 November, in the presence of Mr Thomas Matsoukas, the Greek Consulate in Cape Town, Mr  Evstratios Kritzas  president of the Hellenic Community in George, and Mr Andreas Coulbanis, president of the Hellenic Students Association at UCT

 

 

The Very Reverend Archimandrite Fr. Evlogios, Parish Priest of The Church of the Holy Archangels in George, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Fr. Joachim, Parish Priest of the Church of the Dormition of God in Port Elizabeth, Protobresvyter Fr. George, Parish Priest of the Church of Saint George in East London and Deacon Fr. Michael from the Cathedral of saint George in Cape Town, officiated together with His Eminence.

 

 

Invited guests included; His Lordship the Roman Catholic Bishop Francis, the Catholic Priest Fr. Johan, the Dean of the Anglican Church and Fr. Allan, from the Anglican Church. Orthodox Parishioners travelled from many parts of the Western Cape to attend the services and the official lunch held on Sunday after the service in the community hall. The children of the community danced traditional folk dances during the lunch in celebration of the Feast.
