A DAY OF BLESSINGS IN DOLISIE

A DAY OF BLESSINGS IN DOLISIE

Immediately following the visit to the health care facilities in the city of Dolisie on 29thMarch 2017, His Grace Bishop Panteleimon went to the :Agos Efstathios” Orthodox Orphanage of the Holy Diocese of Congo-Brazzaville, where he received the hired vehicle which had arrived from Pointe-Noire, and which had brought many necessities for the institution. A fridge, sewing machine, beds, mattresses, health care products, cleaning materials, food, clothing, toys and stationery, which were donated by Greek brothers and which had recently arrived in the Congo in a container, and gave particular joy to the little children, as well as the staff of the Orphanage.
The Bishop then went on to visit the adjacent vegetable garden and the impromptu aquarium which the Director of the Institution, Fr. Paul Diafouka, Parish Priest of the Parish Community of St Irene in Dolisie together with his distinguished colleagues created and develop continually, for the benefit of the children being cared for at the Orphanage.
He then went to an area outside the city where the Holy Diocese owns a large property in order to see the beginning of the pineapple plantation – under te guidance always of Fr. Paul – aimed at the financial support of future missionary efforts. His Grace expressed his just praise for the active and humble priest, and gave him a new set of vestments.
This joyful visit ended with a half-hour interview by the Bishop to “TV Congo”, the State television, both regarding the ancient Patriarchate and the local church community of Congo-Brazzaville,  as well as regarding the “St Efstathios”  Orphanage which has official State recognition and its mission, following which he left by road for the See of the Diocese in Pointe-Noire.
