"The erection of the Greek church in Beira (Mozambique)

In 1937, the construction works for the Orthodox Church in Beira began. Athanasios Kleronomos, Dimitris Verghis, Dimitris and Efterpi Paraskevas were among the most important Greek donators. The project started with a capital of 700 gold sovereigns and totally cost 3,200 gold sovereigns. The Greeks of Manica conducted a fundraising campaign and collected 3,400 gold sovereigns."
