THE SLAVONIC FEAST OF THE NATIVITY OF CHRIST IN LUSAKA ZAMBIA January 6th 2024
The Divine Liturgy for the Slavonic Feast of the Nativity of Christ according to the flesh following the Julian calendar was presided over by His Eminence Archbishop IOANNIS Metropolitan of the Archdiocese of Zambia and Superintendent of the Diocese of Mozambique. The audience consisted of several Slavic countries. Like the angels who sang at the birth of Christ: ''Glory to God in the highest, PEACE on earth and goodwill to men'', the archbishop insisted that peace reign among men and among all the nations of humanity.
He also conveyed the blessing of His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa Theodore II.
According to the Slavonic rite, His Eminence broke up the "CHRISTOPSOMO" Christmas cake then blessed the food to start the feast.
