Metropolitan Jeronymos will celebrate the Divine Liturgy this Sunday at Lubya hill... Uganda

 Uganda Orthodox Church - Holy Metropolis of Kampala 

We are glad to inform everyone that His Eminence Metropolitan Jeronymos Muzeeyi will celebrate the Divine Liturgy this Sunday, 16 October at Lubya hill. This will be the first time the Archbishop will perform the eucharistic service at the site of the future Hagia Sophia national cathedral. We therefore invite everyone to join us as we glorify the Lord on the Sunday of the fathers of the seventh Ecumenical Council.

Lubya hill is located in Lubaga Division, Kampala city and it is just one kilometer southerly from St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral Namungoona. In May 2019, at the launch of the centenario celebration of Uganda Orthodox Church, the foundation stone for the projected multi-million Hagia Sophia National Cathedral was laid in presence of the president of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni who was the chief guest.

The existing church is the one which the Eritrean Orthodox Community in Uganda has been temporarily using before moving to Lukuli, Makindye earlier this year.
