Cypriot Brotherhood of Zimbabwe celebrates Panagia Tou Kykkou

On Sunday 6th September, 2015, the President and Committee of The Hellenic Cyriot Brotherhood of Zimbabwe held their Annual Celebration of their Patron Saint, Panagia tou Kykkou.

 
During the service, Ellou Koumidou, President of the Federation of Hellenic Communities
in Zimbabwe read the story of the Icon of Panagia tou
Kykkou painted by Saint Lukas.
 
The Icon of Panagia that we all 'proskinisi' in our Church
in Harare is one of the Panagia tis Kykkou.
 
A memorial service was also held for the Late Patriach of Alexandria
Petros who was tragically killed in a helicopter crash in Greece.
+George and +Anthulla Diamondis were also remembered in a
Memorial Service.
 
Following the Church service a rich buffet of snacks and drinks
was served in Sparta Hall. The floral center piece as well as all
the guests table floral pieces were created by  Andry Christou Charitonos.
Following a blessing by Father George Saganis.
Short speeches were made by the Ambassador of Greece,
Leonidas Kontovounesios, and the President of the Cypriot
Brotherhood of Zimbabwe, Kosta Ioannides.
