On Monday 18th April 2016, at the Holy Diocese of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon in Pointe-Noire, a one-day Priestly Synaxis of the Clergy of the local Orthodox Church was held.
Topics discussed at the Synaxis were: a) the renewal of Church Councils in all Parishes – eligibility for selection of new members, b) the reorganization of the catechism project and the establishment of a new single catechism system in all Parishes with permanent catechists who will constantly undergo training from the Holy Diocese, c) the analytical study of the decisions of the Holy Synod of the patriarchate of Alexandria (November 2015) and d) the briefing of the clergy regarding the Holy and Great Synod of the Orthodox Church (June 2016).
Concluding the Synaxis, the Bishop expressed grateful thanks to the dear clergy for their long and hugely constructive cooperation, which forms the foundation of the spiritual advancement of the local Church. He also conveyed the paternal prayers and blessings of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa.
He then hosted a dinner and gave all the clergy a stole, the Holy Services of Holy Week in French and Epitaphios printed on material.
