As part of the constant aid and improvement of its pastoral work, on Monday 27thMarch 017, a lengthy meeting of the Parish Priests of the four largest Parishes of the local Orthodox Church, was held at the See of the Holy Diocese of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, with His Grace Bishop Panteleimon.
The Priests, Protopresbyter Maximos Oumba Hierarchal Vicar General and Parish Priest of the Holy Cathedral of St Dimitrios in Pointe-Noire, Ekonomos Fr. Sergios Mabelemo Parish Priest of the Holy Church of the Resurrection of the Lord in Brazzaville, Fr. Lavrentios Mpinga, Parish Priest of the Holy Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Pointe-Noire, and Protopresbyter Silouan Nkounkou Parish Priest of the Holy Church of St Fotini in Pointe-Noire, examined in detail together with their Prelate the possibilities of a stronger Orthodox presence and systematic pastoral ministry in prisons and hospitals in the capital, Brazzaville, and the second largest city in the Congo, Pointe-Noire.
In conclusion, every parish Priest received signed copies of a full set of new French Liturgical Books (Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom, St Basil the Great, Pre-sanctified Liturgy, Paraklesis, Reader’s Manual, Orologion etc). as well as a large amount of incense.
In the near future His Grace will be giving these Liturgical books to the rest of the Parish Communities of the Holy Diocese, when he visits them.
