"SAMP feature #5: Fr. Zechariah
Meet Fr. Zechariah Echeme! Born in 1978 in the remote Turkana region, Fr. Zechariah followed a friend into the Orthodox faith. He was then ordained to the holy priesthood in 2008. Currently, Fr. Zechariah serves the parishes of St. Peter in Loupwala and St. Luke in Lokichaar, as well as four other mission communities in Turkana. He also continues to reach out to more people in his region, who have yet to hear the gospel message.

SAMP assists 165 clergy in Kenya, which represent over one-third of all the mission priests we support. OCMC has a long history of sharing in the ministry of the Orthodox Church in Kenya. OCMC's earliest long-term missionaries served in Kenya, and Kenya also hosted the very first OCMC mission team. This great legacy continues today - especially by supporting Kenyan clergy through SAMP.
