Holy Patriarchal Eucharist Service –  Church of St Nicholas, Durban KZN, South Africa

On Sunday 22 May, His Beatitude Theodoros II officiated at the Service of the Holy Patriarchal Eucharist at the Church of Saint Nicholas in Durban KZN. He was joined by His Eminence Archibishop Sergios Metropolitan Bishop of Cape Town, Protobresvyter Athinadoros Papaevridiadis Exarch for the Patriarchate in Cyprus, Archimandrite Father Filaratos Leibadarou, parish priest of Durban. Father George Tsiftis the parish priest from Bloemfontein and Father Elefterios Konakas the parish priest from Welkom.



Present at the Service were Greek   Ambassador Mr Eleutherios Kouvaritakis, Honorary Consulate of Cyprus (KZN) Mr Savvas Stylianou, Honorary Consulate of Greece (KZN) Mr Ioanni Ioannou. and Mr Pantelis  Elefteriou , president of  the Hellenic Community of Durban and committee members.
Also in atendance were Mr Fotis Sousalis president of the the Hellenic Comunity of Cape Town, Mr Mario Savvas, chairman of the Hellenic Community of Bloemfontein, Mr Savvas Miliatos, Chairman of the Hellenic Community of Kokstad and past presidetns from KZN Mr Charles Lisiades, Mr  Ioanni Ioannou and Mr Nick  Kritikos.
Also protospalter Mr Gregory Manolelis who travelled  from East London to participate in the Service. The Liturgy was very well attended by  Orthodox parishioners from Durban and surrounding areas. The Service was followed by a complimentary lunch in the Church hall.
