On Tuesday in Bright Week, 3rd May 2016, His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, accompanied by the Hierarchal Vicar General Rev. Fr. Maximos Oumba, Parish Priest of the Holy Cathedral of St Dimitrios in Pointe-Noire, Fr. Lavrentios Mpinga Parish Priest of the Holy Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Pointe-Noire, Fr Silouan Nkounkou Parish Priest of the Holy Church of St Fotini in Pointe-Noire and colleagues of the philanthropic effort, visited the prisons in the city to donate a substantial amount of personal health products and food to the three hundred and sixty brother inmates. This contribution was from the love of the Orthodox faithful of the three Parish Communities, as well as from the Diocese, so that the above mentioned items could be purchased.
During the visit the Bishop had the blessing of meeting with all the inmates, men and women, to tell them about the Resurrection of the Lord, the personal resurrection of each one of them and to give them words of support and respect.
