On the morning of Holy Saturday, 30th April 2016, His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, performed the baptisms of thirty-five enlightened locals of all ages, from the three Parish Communities of Pointe-Noire in the outdoor baptistery in the Holy Cathedral of St Dimitrios, which is under construction in the city.
He then left immediately by air for the capital, Brazzaville, where he performed the baptisms of another twelve people at the baptistery of the parish of the Resurrection of the Lord in the city.
Addressing all the newly-enlightened Christians, His Grace spoke about the sacrament of Holy Baptism and Orthodox faith. He also expressed the joy of the local Church on their entrance into it, urging all to become faithful, respectful and honourable members of the church. The Bishop will remain the capital of the Congo, to celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord in the Parish Church of the same name.
